There are a lot of great ways you can get music for free online legally. You can try Pandora or Spotify which both let users create their own playlists based on genres, songs, artists, or albums without any ads interrupting your listening experience (paid).

Spotify has a free tier that lets you listen to music with ads for as long as you like. Pandora only offers the free service on mobile devices, but it does have all of its songs in an ad-free environment and there are no time limits.
